Jakarta, April 10 -- Technology giant Meta announced that it has adjusted the minimum age to access its Facebook, Instagram, and Threads services in Indonesia to comply with the country's new regulation on child protection in digital platforms.

As announced on Meta Indonesia's official website, accessed on Friday, the new policy is to align with Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 regarding Electronic System Governance for Child Protection (PP Tunas).

PP Tunas has restricted children's access to social media platforms for their safety and security. Before PP Tunas, the minimum user age set by Meta to access Facebook, Instagram, and Threads was set at 13 years old.
