Jakarta, March 31 -- Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid has summoned Meta and Google for non-compliance with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 regarding the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection (PP Tunas).

The tech giants reportedly violated provisions of the implementing regulation, Ministerial Regulation Number 9 of 2026, which the government officially enacted on March 28.

"Today, the government sent summonses to both parties as an effort to implement administrative sanctions in accordance with applicable provisions," the minister said in a statement on Monday, March 30.
