Megawati, Kuwaiti envoy discuss Middle East conflict, bilateral ties
Jakarta, May 19 -- Indonesia's fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri met with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Indonesia Khalid Jassim Al-Yassin on Monday to discuss the impact of the Middle East conflict and bilateral relations.
During the meeting at Megawati's residence in Jakarta, Ambassador Al-Yassin praised Indonesia's historical leadership, particularly the 1955 Asian-African Conference.
He also praised Indonesia's leadership through the "Bandung Spirit" of the 1955 Asian-African Conference, which promoted solidarity, peace, and anti-colonialism and contributed to Kuwait's independence movement.
