Jakarta, May 1 -- President Prabowo Subianto has signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026, capping the commission fees that ride-hailing platforms can deduct from drivers' earnings at a maximum of 8 percent per trip.

"I am stating here that I do not agree with 10 percent; it must be below that," he said during his speech at the International Workers' Day commemoration at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Friday.

The president emphasized that the regulation was introduced to protect the rights of ride-hailing drivers, who work under demanding conditions and face daily risks on the road.
