Bandarlampung, Oct. 30 -- Lampung Province is developing high-performing local robusta coffee clones developed by farmers to rejuvenate aging plantations and diversify coffee production.

"Lampung, particularly West Lampung, has many innovative farmers who have developed robusta clones. We value and support their work," said Lampung Plantation Agency Head Desti Arisandi in Bandar Lampung on Friday.

To support farmers' innovations, the agency is cultivating these superior local robusta clones at the Hanakau Plantation Nursery in West Lampung.

"At Hanakau, we manage 10 hectares of collection and production plots. We graft existing coffee trees using planting material from superior clones developed by local farmers," she said.
