Jakarta, June 16 -- The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) is overseeing the handling of an incident involving a number of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Taichung City, Taiwan, on June 14, 2026.

"The ministry, together with the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) in Taipei, continues to coordinate intensively with local authorities to ensure that the entire process is carried out in accordance with applicable laws," Minister of P2MI Mukhtarudin said in a statement here on Tuesday.

He stated that the government will continue to monitor the handling of the incident as an effort to ensure that every Indonesian citizen obtains consular access, assistance, and protection.
