Jakarta, Sept. 21 -- The National Commission on Disabilities (KND) has emphasized that the drafting of the National Education System Bill (Sisdiknas Bill) must involve persons with disabilities and their representative organizations.

"There must be meaningful participation from persons with disabilities. The government is obligated to consult directly with persons with disabilities and their organizations," said KND Member Rachmita Maun Harahap during a meeting with Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday.

Furthermore, the KND called for regular evaluations of inclusive education to ensure effectiveness, beyond just administrative compliance.
