Kertajati Airport to continue Umrah flights while amid MRO development
Jakarta, July 16 -- The Ministry of Transportation has stated that Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka District, West Java, will continue serving Hajj and Umrah flights while also being developed as a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility.
"Regarding Kertajati, it will indeed be developed as an MRO facility, but it will continue to serve Hajj and Umrah flights," Director General of Air Transportation Lukman said here on Thursday.
Kertajati International Airport has been serving Hajj and Umrah flights since 2023.
The airport is Indonesia's second-largest after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, with an annual passenger terminal capacity of 5.6 million.
