Jakarta, March 19 -- Indonesia's high-speed rail operator has made 653,888 Whoosh tickets available for the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, ramping up capacity to meet an expected surge in travel demand, a company official said Thursday.

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) said the expanded ticket allocation is aimed at ensuring safe, smooth and comfortable journeys throughout the peak travel season.

"As of March 14, 2026, Whoosh trips have been increased to 62 per day," KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa told reporters in Jakarta.

The operator has designated an 18-day Eid travel window running from March 13 to March 30, 2026, during which passenger volumes are expected to rise steadily.
