Jakarta, Aug. 5 -- State railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia said it is strengthening customer data protection through tighter cybersecurity, international standards and stronger governance as digital ticketing and travel services become increasingly widespread.

"KAI continues strengthening customer data security and confidentiality as digital travel services expand," Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The measures include stronger data protection policies, tighter system security, stricter access controls, cyber incident management and clearer disclosures on how customer information is collected and used.
