Jakarta, May 15 -- State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) reported that 142,147 out of 242,169 tickets available for the Ascension Day long holiday period from May 13-18, 2026, have been sold.

"To date, we are still witnessing strong public enthusiasm for railway services," KAI Operational Region 1 Jakarta spokesperson Franoto Wibowo said on Friday.

He noted that KAI is operating 68 regular long-distance train trips daily, complemented by nine additional services - eight departing from Gambir Station and one from Pasar Senen Station - to anticipate increased public mobility during the holiday period.
