KADIN backs Prabowo's push for 8 percent economic growth
Jakarta, July 31 -- The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) conveyed its readiness to assist the government in driving economic growth to eight percent as part of efforts to help Indonesia escape the middle-income trap.
During a meeting between central and regional KADIN entrepreneurs from across Indonesia and President Prabowo Subianto on Friday, KADIN Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie said the target requires close collaboration between the government and the business community.
"The Indonesian economy has grown at around five percent for the past 20 years. To move beyond the middle-income trap, we must gradually reach eight percent. If we work together, this is very possible," Bakrie said.
