Jakarta, March 3 -- Indonesia's 10th and 12th vice president, Jusuf Kalla (JK), received Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi at his residence in South Jakarta on Tuesday to discuss Indonesia's potential role in mediating the conflict involving Iran.
During the meeting, Ambassador Boroujerdi conveyed his government's expectation of support from Muslim-majority countries, particularly Indonesia.
Kalla said President Prabowo Subianto is prepared to take on a mediating role if requested by the parties involved.
"President Prabowo is ready to mediate in this conflict. However, it would require the consent of both sides," he said in a statement.
