Jakarta, Oct. 30 -- Jakarta has been officially designated as the host for the 2027 World Cities Culture (WCC) Summit, a global network of cities that share research, ideas, and best practices regarding the role of culture in urban development.

The announcement was made by the founder of the World Cities Culture Forum (WCCF), Justine Simons OBE, during the closing ceremony of the 2026 World Cities Culture Summit at WITH Harajuku Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on Friday.

In an official statement received in Jakarta, the Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, affirmed that the city is prepared to welcome delegates from over 50 cities worldwide who will attend the forum next year.
