Jakarta, April 17 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government is pushing for a faster energy transition and a 50 percent emissions reduction by 2030 through greater adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

"The population of electric vehicles is growing every year. This is part of our movement to reduce low-carbon emissions. Our ambitious target for 2030 is to reduce emissions by 50 percent," the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Service, Syaripudin, said on Friday.

According to him, this step is taken as part of efforts to reduce carbon emissions and achieve the net-zero emissions target by 2050.
