Jakarta, June 14 -- The one-hour energy saving and carbon emission reduction initiative in Jakarta on the commemoration of World Environment Day on Saturday (June 13) was able to reduce carbon emissions by 60.14 tons of CO2e.

"The 60-minute lights-off campaign is not just a symbol. It is a reminder that simple actions can bring a real impact on environmental sustainability," Head of the Jakarta Environmental Agency, Dudi Gardesi, said on Sunday.

He noted that the initiative aims to instill a culture of energy conservation and encourage the public to participate in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
