Jakarta, Oct. 27 -- Japanese energy company Inpex has completed the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the Abadi Masela liquefied natural gas (LNG) project three months ahead of its original year-end target, finalizing the phase in October.

Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) Djoko Siswanto stated that the milestone accelerates the development of the US$22 billion strategic project.

"Thank God, it was finished three months early-completed in October," Djoko said during a ceremony in Jakarta on Tuesday, adding that authorities hope to reach the final investment decision (FID) by late 2026 or January 2027 at the latest.
