Jakarta, March 30 -- The Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) confirmed the continuation of its peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, despite one of its soldiers being killed in action (KIA) by artillery fire.
"We remain committed to carrying out our duties as part of the world peacekeeping mission under the mandate of the United Nations (UN) professionally and responsibly, while prioritizing the safety of our soldiers," the Head of TNI Headquarters Information Center, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, confirmed on Monday.
He noted that the assignment reflects the TNI's role in implementing the state's mandate to help foster world peace, as stated in the preamble to the 1945 Constitution.
