Indonesian shrimp face 13.9 pct US tariff, lower than Vietnam: Gov't
Jakarta, Aug. 21 -- The US tariff on Indonesian shrimp stands at around 13.90 percent in total, placing Indonesia in a more favorable position than India and Vietnam, according to the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry.
The ministry's Acting Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products, Erwin Dwiyana, informed that the tariff on Indonesian shrimp consists of an additional Section 301 tariff of 10 percent and an anti-dumping duty of 3.90 percent.
"Indonesia can further strengthen its position in the US shrimp market, especially relative to Asian suppliers, although Ecuador is likely to remain a strong competitor," he noted in a statement on Friday.
