Jakarta, March 13 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto paid the Islamic mandatory charity, or zakat al-fitr, to the National Alms Agency (Baznas) at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

Upon arriving at the venue at 4:10 p.m. local time, President Prabowo promptly approached a desk to fulfill the obligation, which is mandatory for all able Muslims before Eid al-Fitr.

Afterward, the president chaired a plenary meeting of the Red and White Cabinet to discuss government preparations for Eid activities and mobility, as well as updates on disaster recovery efforts in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
