Jakarta, March 26 -- Indonesia's navy is considering missile systems from Italy, France and Turkiye to arm its newest warship, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, which arrived in Jakarta on Thursday, as part of efforts to strengthen its maritime defense capabilities.

"Navy Chief Adm. Muhammad Ali said missile options remain under review, with several candidates under consideration.

"We are still evaluating the missiles. There are options from Italy, from MBDA France, and possibly from Turkiye," he told a press briefing.

He said decisions on missile systems, as well as onboard sensors, have yet to be finalized and are currently under assessment.

"However, the ship's guns have already been confirmed," he added.
