Jakarta, Sept. 9 -- The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) has deployed three warships to support an ongoing search and rescue (SAR) operation for five journalists and two other individuals who lost contact near Mount Anak Krakatau, Sunda Strait.

The deployment aims to reinforce search efforts after a boat carrying the media team lost contact while covering volcanic activity in the area on Monday (September 7).

According to an official Indonesian Navy statement released Wednesday, the military dispatched the KRI Leuser-924, KRI Kerambit-627, and KRI Lepu-861 to expand the search radius across the heavily trafficked maritime corridor.
