Indonesian Navy deploys Vampire MLRS in Super Garuda Shield exercise
Jakarta, Sept. 6 -- The Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps deployed its Vampire MLRS, a 122-mm rocket launcher, during the Super Garuda Shield 2026 joint exercise in South Sumatra on Friday, September 4.
The live-fire exercise was held at the Baturaja Combat Training Center in South Sumatra, according to a Marine Corps statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.
The exercise tested both the weapon system's capabilities and the skills of the personnel operating it.
Other countries participating in Super Garuda Shield 2026 also displayed rocket-launching systems, including the US M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS.
The Marine Corps said the entire exercise was completed successfully without any incidents.
