Jakarta, Sept. 28 -- The Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps received 12 new US-made combat vehicles, the AAV M-35, from the TNI Commander and the Ministry of Defense at the Hartono Marine Corps Field, Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Monday.

These 12 Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAV 7s) are the result of a joint purchase between the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the United States.

"This is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program from the US. We are being given a special price due to our close relationship with the United States Marine Corps. Their relationship with the Indonesian Marine Corps is very good," Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali said on Monday.
