Indonesian govt urges protection for campus anti-violence teams
Jakarta, May 19 -- Indonesia's Higher Education Ministry on Tuesday urged universities to protect members of campus violence prevention task forces, warning they face intimidation, terror and doxing while handling sensitive cases.
Beny Bandanadjaja, the ministry's director of learning and student affairs, said universities must ensure the safety of task force members while creating safer academic environments.
"These task forces also need protection. We hope university leaders guarantee protection and assistance during such processes," Bandanadjaja said in Jakarta.
He said task force members remain vulnerable to intimidation, psychological pressure and online harassment from parties linked to reported violence cases.
