Indonesian govt sends aid to Jayawijaya after social conflict
Jakarta, Sept. 10 -- Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has sent emergency supplies and equipment to accelerate post-conflict recovery in Jayawijaya, Papua Highlands, as the emergency status extends through December 31, 2026.
The agency's acting Data, Information and Disaster Communication Center Head Berton S.P. Panjaitan said here Thursday that operational support and supplies for displaced residents had been received by the Papua Highlands provincial and Jayawijaya district governments.
"BNPB has distributed food packages, blankets, mattresses, family kits, evacuation tents, 25-horsepower polyethylene boats, chainsaws and communication radios to support recovery operations," he said.
