Tangerang, Banten, Sept. 27 -- Indonesian industry players and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are ready for the government's policy mandating halal certification starting Oct. 18, according to Secretary of IPB University's Halal Science Center Mala Nurilmala.

Speaking at the Industrial Festival x Halal Indo 2026 in Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday, she observed that most large companies and a substantial number of MSMEs had already complied with halal certification requirements.

"This is proof that Indonesia is ready to welcome the mandatory halal certification policy in October 2026," Nurilmala said.
