Jakarta, Aug. 4 -- Indonesia's national badminton squad has been tasked with securing at least one gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with top officials identifying the men's team event as their prime opportunity.

Head coach of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) national training center, Eng Hian, confirmed the target on Tuesday following joint evaluation meetings with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

"Based on the assessment from the Sports Ministry's review team, the target is one gold medal," Eng Hian said during a press conference in Jakarta.

"As the Chef de Mission mentioned, the strongest opportunity lies in the men's team event."
