Jakarta, July 16 -- The Indonesian Army has formed an investigation team to determine the cause of a deadly ammunition depot explosion in East Java on Thursday, army spokesperson Brigadier General Donny Pramono announced.

The blast, which occurred at the military's central ammunition storage facility in Madiun Regency, killed one soldier and injured six others.

Pramono stated that the explosion occurred while personnel were conducting routine maintenance on the military hardware.

However, officials have not yet detailed the exact cause or the specific types of ammunition involved.
