Indonesian Army expands territorial reach with six new commands
Jakarta, Oct. 6 -- The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) has expanded administratively with the establishment of six new regional commands (kodam), as a move aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of territorial operations.
"We deem adjustments necessary to ensure a more effective span of control, faster coordination, and optimal responses to evolve situations across regions," Head of Information Service at the Army, Brigadier General Donny Pramono, said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Pramono emphasised the expansion reflects the Army's recognition of the need to strengthen its reach across Indonesia's vast territory, which is characterised by diverse geographical conditions and social dynamics.
