Jakarta, Aug. 3 -- The Indonesian Navy has completed joint drills with the Royal Australian Navy, strengthening bilateral military and maritime cooperation during the 2026 Cassowary Exercise, held in Australia from July 27-31.

The exercise involved 15 Indonesian Navy officers led by Cassowary Exercise-26 task force commander Col. Ferry H. Hutagaol, the Navy said in a statement Monday.

Personnel trained in operating minor war vessels and conducting maritime law enforcement operations to improve their skills in handling smaller vessels and carrying out maritime patrols.

The Indonesian Navy said the exercise ran smoothly, with all personnel following operational and safety regulations throughout the training.
