Jakarta, July 12 -- Indonesia secured both the gold and silver medals in the men's speed event at the 2026 World Climbing Series held in Chamonix, France, on Saturday night local time.

Veddriq Leonardo emerged as the champion after defeating compatriot Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi in an all-Indonesian final.

Leonardo, who won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, clocked 4.89 seconds to clinch the top spot. Meanwhile, Al Hilmi took home the silver medal after completing the wall in 5.11 seconds.

Despite falling short of the title, Al Hilmi delivered an impressive performance from the qualification rounds to ensure Indonesia locked in the top two positions on the podium.
