Jakarta, April 9 -- Indonesian Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid welcomed the good intent shown by technology giant Meta to restrict children's access to its social media platforms.
This move aligns with the Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 regarding Electronic System Governance for Child Protection (PP Tunas).
"Today, we are very pleased to express our appreciation to Meta, which operates Instagram, Facebook, and Threads," she said at the office of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs in Jakarta on Thursday.
She noted that, after a hearing held earlier on Monday, Meta showed compliance to adjust their products, features, and services in accordance with Indonesian law.
