Indonesia urges US, Iran to end conflict and restore peace
Jakarta, Aug. 2 -- A member of Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR) urged the government to continue playing an active role in persuading the United States and Iran to end hostilities and help restore peace and stability.
"Indonesia must consistently call for an end to attacks and encourage all parties to exercise restraint," DPR Commission I lawmaker Syamsu Rizal said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.
He emphasized the urgency of all parties avoiding a prolonged conflict and giving precedence to dialogue and diplomacy, highlighting the far-reaching impact of hostilities on communities around the world.
