Garut, West Java, March 14 -- Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has urged travelers to stick to main routes that are confirmed to be safe from natural disasters and to avoid traveling in heavy rain during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.

"We are informing travelers to choose safe routes for their journey," he told the press following a working visit to Garut, West Java, on Saturday.

He affirmed that the government has completed various preparations to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The central government, he added, has coordinated with various stakeholders, including regional governments, to map out areas prone to natural disasters along homecoming routes.
