Malang, E Java, April 23 -- Climbing routes for Mount Semeru in East Java will be reopened on April 24 after being closed since November 19, 2025, the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) announced on Thursday.

TNBTS head Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha said the reopening was stated in an official announcement issued on April 22.

Climbing will only be allowed up to the Ranu Kumbolo area, and climbers are prohibited from continuing to the summit.

Visitors must purchase tickets online through the official TNBTS website at least two days before their trip.

The daily quota is set at 200 climbers, with each trip limited to two days and one night.
