Jakarta, April 20 -- Indonesia's Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) is encouraging the optimization of domestic drug production capacity as a mitigation to address the impact of Middle East conflict, which may limit exports and increase drug prices.
"BPOM's recommendations and mitigation measures have been implemented, it is technology-based supervision and production capacity optimization," BPOM head Taruna Ikrar said in a meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday.
Furthermore, efforts to optimize national drug production are being carried out through coordination with the Health Ministry, particularly regarding generic drugs.
