Indonesia to launch US$20 billion Abadi Masela Gas project in 2027
Jakarta, June 26 -- Construction of the Abadi Masela gas field project in Maluku is officially scheduled to begin in 2027, according to Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
The US$20 billion megaproject-one of Indonesia's most critical National Strategic Projects (PSN)-is expected to start commercial production between 2029 and 2030, positioning it as a cornerstone of the country's future energy security.
"It is one of the biggest giants in Indonesia," Minister Bahlil stated here on Thursday (June 25).
