Indonesia to grade MBG service units, halt new SPPG development
Jakarta, June 17 -- The Indonesian government will introduce a series of measures to improve the governance of Nutrition Service Fulfillment Units (SPPG) under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, including a grading system and a review of incentive schemes.
Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Head Muhammad Qodari said the government will prioritize improving the operational quality of existing SPPG units rather than expanding the network.
"The first step is a moratorium on the construction of new SPPG because the existing ones are considered sufficient and will be reorganized. The focus is on the currently operational SPPG," Qodari said in a statement on Wednesday.
