Jakarta, June 25 -- Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Indonesian aviation will begin in 2027 as part of a transformation towards low-emission air transportation.

"This is an alternative to conventional aviation fuel and is much cleaner," he informed while opening the Ministerial Coordination Meeting on Strengthening Airport Ecosystem Governance in Jakarta on Thursday.

AHY stated that this transformation is a crucial part of the government's efforts to maintain a balance between national economic growth and commitment to environmental preservation while reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector.
