Jakarta, March 3 -- Indonesia has intensified monitoring and mitigation measures for its migrant workers in the Middle East following escalating tensions triggered by U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran, a cabinet minister said on Tuesday.

Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Mukhtarudin said the government activated crisis management protocols at the onset of the escalation and is conducting daily monitoring with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesian missions across the region.

"The state is not waiting for the situation to deteriorate," Mukhtarudin said in a press statement received on Tuesday.
