Jakarta, July 28 -- Indonesia's Transportation Ministry is strengthening safety standards for app-based transport services to improve compliance, oversight and the quality of reliable and sustainable mobility, Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said Tuesday.

"Safe driving is important, especially for app-based drivers who serve the public's daily mobility needs," Purwagandhi said during a safety training session at Jatijajar Terminal in Depok, West Java.

Grab Indonesia organized the training with the Land Transportation Directorate General and the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association for 1,052 two-wheeled driver partners across five cities.
