Indonesia targets major progress on waste by end of 2027
Jakarta, July 30 -- President Prabowo Subianto has set a target for Indonesia to make significant progress in resolving its waste problem by the end of 2027 as part of the government's efforts to protect the environment.
Speaking at the mass handover of 62,000 subsidized home mortgages (KPR) in Batang, Central Java, on Thursday, Prabowo said waste management is a key component of the country's efforts to address climate change and global warming.
"God willing, within the next one to two years, we will bring about drastic changes. By the end of 2027, Indonesia's waste problem will be resolved. There will be no more mountains of waste. We will achieve this," he said.
