Indonesia targets 7 GW nuclear power capacity for energy security
Jakarta, Oct. 6 -- Indonesia is targeting the construction of 7 gigawatts (GW) of nuclear power capacity as part of a broader strategy to ensure long-term energy security and fuel industrial expansion.
Speaking at the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum in Jakarta on Tuesday, Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy Hashim Djojohadikusumo revealed that the nuclear milestone has been formally integrated into the country's national energy master plan following consultations with state utility firm PT PLN.
