Indonesia strengthens fisheries quality system for global markets
Badung, Bali, Sept. 18 -- Indonesia is strengthening quality assurance across its fisheries supply chain to ensure food safety and boost the competitiveness of its products in global markets, a senior fisheries official said Friday.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Andy Artha Donny Oktapura said the system covers production, processing, and downstream activities to ensure fisheries products meet domestic food safety standards and international market requirements.
"People in the world are no longer focused on how to meet food needs in terms of quantity, but on how they can consume food that is safe and guaranteed in quality," Donny said.
