Jakarta, Sept. 23 -- Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago said Indonesia will continue to promote stronger cooperation with China in the maritime sector as a priority area of the bilateral partnerships.

"In the maritime sector, Indonesia sees broad opportunities to strengthen positive cooperation with China," Djamari said at the celebration of China's 77th National Day in Jakarta on Tuesday evening.

According to Djamari, as the world's largest archipelagic country, Indonesia has a strong interest in ensuring a maritime region that is safe, peaceful, stable, and supportive of cooperation and sustainable development.
