Bandung, West Java, May 10 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Environment is seeking to accelerate the waste-to-energy (WtE) plant development to address the waste crisis in the Greater Bandung metropolitan area, West Java.
"We don't want to drag this out. If a decision is reached during the coordination meeting, the tender for this waste-to-energy project can begin immediately," Environment Minister Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat said in Bandung District on Sunday.
He explained that his ministry is currently accelerating the development of the Oxbow Cicukang WtE plant in Margaasih Sub-district, Bandung District, to address the increasingly urgent waste crisis.
