Jakarta, Feb. 26 -- The Indonesian government is accelerating the construction of permanent housing for disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, with dozens of units targeted for completion before Eid al-Fitr in March.
"We will make efforts to ensure several units are ready for residents by Eid," Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait said in a statement cited in Jakarta on Thursday.
He urged governors and district heads to take proactive steps to support construction projects, including those carried out in collaboration with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation.
