Jakarta, Aug. 12 -- Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno affirmed that the government continues to accelerate efforts to contain wildfires in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS), East Java.

Pratikno, who directly inspected the site and led a coordination meeting on the wildfire response on Tuesday, stated that joint firefighting efforts have yielded significant results.

The number of active hotspots has dropped sharply from 34 to just two, which remain the primary focus of containment efforts.

"Two hotspots still need to be extinguished immediately. That is down from 34 previously, leaving just two remaining," Pratikno said in a statement.
