Jakarta, April 27 -- The Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry (KKP) stated that Indonesian shrimp exports to the United States market have reached more than Rp11 trillion (US$638 million), despite previously being affected by a cesium-137 (Cs-137) contamination issue.

Acting Secretary General of the KKP, Andy Artha Donny Oktopura, said in Jakarta on Monday that shrimp exports had reached around 3,400 containers with a total value of Rp11 trillion as of April 26, 2026.

He explained that this achievement was driven by the ministry's efforts to strengthen a comprehensive fisheries quality assurance system.
